Bootleg Collection 2: Stacks is High

Posted in LAX-JFK Private Label with tags , , , , , , on August 7, 2012 by LAX-JFK

Inspiration for our Stacks is High Tee was drawn (or Bootlegged) from the cover-art of what may arguably be one of the BEST Hip Hop Joints/Albums of all time, De La Soul’s Stakes is High.  Featuring a flip on the title track and implying you’re well-off.  Whether speaking in terms of money, tees, sneakers, whatever… Stacks is High.

Bootleg Collection 2 will be available at www.LAX2JFK.com August 9th at 8:00am.  Design leaks all week… stay close.

BLACK Stacks is High. $28.00

ATHLETIC HEATHER Stacks is High. $28.00

Wayback Wednesdays: Unplugged

I remember watching this live on Mtv (1991).  You may not remember this, but the “M” in “Mtv” used to stand for music.  Now it stands for Reality Fast Food for your brain.  No DVR’s, if you were a fan you were tuned in or you’d miss it.

Respect to the Gods.

Wayback Wednesdays X Bootleg Collection II Stacks is High Inspiration

Posted in LAX-JFK Private Label, music, Wayback Wednesdays with tags , , , , , on May 2, 2012 by LAX-JFK

Today we have a hybrid post (if you will), taking you on a Wayback Wednesday and talking Inspiration for the Stacks is High t-shirt.  With Jay Dee on the Beat, Maseo on the wheels, Posdnuos & Trugoy on the Mics, how can you NOT be inspired?

If you follow us on Twitter (LAXtoJFK) or Instagram (same handle), you’ve seen a sneak peak of patterns & looks that inspired our latest collection slated to drop in a couple of weeks.  We’re staying away from conventional Seasons, dropping pieces when we’re ready to do so…

Our inspiration featured here is taken from what may arguably be one of the BEST Hip Hop Songs/Albums of all time, back when lyrical content meant more than a butt-shacking beat or catchy hook.

For this project, we’re presenting a “flip” on the design I’m sure you’ll find provocative.

Collection will be available on www.LAX2JFK.comTradition (Thousand Oaks) and Brooklyn Projects (Melrose, L.A.).  Stay tuned to our blog for more info.

De La in the Stew(dio)

Album scheduled for release April 2nd on Duck Down!  I’m hyped!  I’ve always supported these dudes, that’s the only way artists will keep putting out choice material.  Sticking to their clever punchlines & metaphors Pos stated on Twitter, “We out here having fun..somthing soo many is scared to do.”

Plug Won on the verse, Supah Dave West on the beat.

Trugoy on the verse, Khrysis on the beat.

“Must B the Music” is their first single from the new album.  You’ll note the comedic slant on the industries current state.  Enjoy.
